Advice on getting a computer that plays games from the 1990s?

I'm struggling on this one. I am really. missing my games from the 90s including Victor Vector and Yondo: The Vampires Coffin as well as Sim City original. My computer friends tried to set up emulation for me on my MacBook Air but were unable to do it. They didn't understand.

So after struggle, I'm making it my mission to be able to finally be able to play my games. Do you know if any old PC labtop will play the discs from the 1990s? Or if the old Macintosh labtops before 2000 play them? Do the lap tops have disc drive?

I really wish it was as simple as having a system to put these games in and just play. I really miss the old times. This is so hard. Would really appreciate any advice.
