I'm looking at the new iMac, and I am really considering buying one. But do you think it's too small? I used to have a 27in years ago and that began feeling too small with the introduction of a 32in monitor, then a 34in, and I even used a 38in for a while. 49in was too big for me.

I feel like I'm talking myself out of it, are there any iMac users out there that love the 24 coming from a 27 or bigger? It's too expensive to get a Mini and a Studio Display...

I mean I use a 16in Macbook Pro most of the time, so 8in would be huge for me.

It's all about perspective of course.

I think it's too small. Apple needs to bring back the 27" iMac and then offer a pro model with a 30" or 34".
I believe the reason they don't offer a 27-inch iMac "Plus" or a 32-inch iMac "Pro" is that they don't want to cannibalize sales of their Studio Display or Pro Display XDR.

I don't think those displays sell much (or at all in the Pro Display XDR's case), so I don't buy into that logic.

One other thing I want to point out is that the iMac still has a 60Hz screen in 2024. If it was 120hz, like the Promotion displays on MacBook Pro's I would be more inclined to pick on up. But you can get a way higher refresh rate display and a Mac Mini for cheaper. More important for gaming than office work of course, which is the iMac's target demographic.
